About Wendy

Wendy Limbertie is a trained professional Classical musician , she studied at the Faculty of Music, University of Toronto, The Amsterdam Conservatory of Music as well as the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto. Wendy was principal horn of the Amsterdam Opera Company Orchestra for 20 years. She has also performed with many Orchestras in Holland and Canada. An accomplished classical horn player, Wendy has performed with the Royal Concertgebouw of Amsterdam, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Residentie Orchestra of The Hague, The Toronto Symphony, Aradia Ensemble, Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony and the Niagara Symphony. As a chamber musician she has performed with the Toronto Chamber Orchestra, Amici Chamber Ensemble, The Stravinsky Ensemble and Network Winds.

Wendy has been teaching privately for 20 years. Her students have successfully auditioned for TSYO, The Faculty of Music for both University of Toronto as well as York University. Due to their high performance levels, her students have received full tuition scholarships from these institutions.

Are you a Beginner or Adult Student?

Have you always wanted to play the French Horn, but never had the chance? Did you play an instrument as a teenage in High School and want to rediscover the joy of creating music? You have come to the right place. I specialize in teaching adults and beginners from scratch in the development proper breathing technique, proper embouchure and posture. It’s never too late to start playing an instrument.

It’s not just a French Horn lesson, it’s a comprehensive intensive and fun music lesson in my downtown music studio! Tired of missing those horn solos and cracking those notes? Horn playing is way more fun when you DO hit all the right notes and I can help!

Over 30 years of teaching experience and 30 years of professional Orchestral performing. Graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Music, U of T – Faculty of Music and the Amsterdam Conservatory of Music.

About the lesson

The first lesson we will play through some works of music the student has played in the past and feels comfortable with. I will then gage the level of the student and ask what he/she has as goals for themselves in playing.
