About Abbey

Provide quality educational services for all French levels. I have extensive traveling experience and have worked in France and French-speaking Switzerland. I am currently a PhD student focusing on International Education and Educational Psychology. I have a passion for teaching both language and intercultural competency- lifelong skills that help forge relationships and build community. I am a licensed French Teacher in the state of Virginia and have a MS.Ed in Foreign Language Instruction PK-12. Let me know how I can help you grow!

I love the "ah-ha" moments! Helping students make connections and realize their own potential and goals. I use a student-centered approach- I want my students to set their own goals and chart their progress. I want students to realize the importance of being multilingual and the role it can play in their lives.

I have always loved being in the classroom, both as a student and a teacher. Learning French was difficult for me in the beginning, and I certainly could have benefited from a tutor! I taught middle school for five years and have also led high school summer study abroad programs for five years. I am a PhD student studying International Education and Educational Psychology.

I developed a Preschool French language program. I was also a middle school French teacher for five years.

About the lesson

I would begin by assessing the student's needs and goals. These may include short-term goals such as projects and tests as well as long-term goals such as communicative abilities to help grow careers.

I have worked with a variety of students, including gifted students as well as students with special needs. Every student has great potential!
