About River
I'm an experienced and passionate educator with a B.A. from the University of Texas. Though I struggled with math all throughout high school, it was in college-level calculus that everything clicked! With the right teacher, I finally understood the subject that had confused me for so long. I also found that I wanted to pass on this education to other struggling students. Now, with several years of tutoring experience working with dozens of students, I have a proven track record of helping students improve their math skills and academic performance. My dedication to education and passion for math make me a reliable and effective tutor, eager to support and guide students in their learning journey.

As someone who used to struggle with math myself, my primary goal as a math tutor is to make the subject accessible to all students, from elementary school through college, in subjects ranging from trigonometry to calculus. My approach is defined by flexibility: no strict lesson plans or long lectures, just personalized curricula tailored to each student's unique needs. In our first session, I'll assess your skills and areas for improvement. Each regular session will involve review, introduction of new concepts, and guided practice. I understand the immense challenge of understanding what is essentially a different language, and I am always excited to show students the amazing power math unlocks!
