About Halima
I'm Halima, with several years of tutoring experience across GCSE, 11+, and A-level subjects. Teaching has always come naturally to me, and I've worked with a wide range of students, including those with SEND and additional learning needs, which has taught me to adapt my methods rather than expect students to adapt to me. I've also spent years volunteering as a Scout Leader, developing patience and strong communication skills while supporting young people. I love teaching because I know firsthand how much a good tutor can change a student's relationship with a subject — turning frustration into confidence. I'm heading to university this September, so I'm currently offering online lessons and bring flexibility, reliability, and genuine enthusiasm to every session.

My approach is built around adapting to each student rather than sticking to one method — some students need visual explanations, others need to talk through problems out loud, and I adjust based on what actually works for them. I have experience tutoring Science, Maths, English, Computer Science, 11+ prep from KS2 all the way to A-levels and I've worked closely with SEND and SEN students, so patience and creativity are central to how I teach. I focus on building confidence alongside knowledge, since many students arrive feeling anxious about a subject before we even start. I tailor sessions whether the goal is closing a knowledge gap, exam technique, or building long-term confidence in a subject.
