About Shiloh
I love helping students learn and advance to be successful! Connecting with others through the written word is such an amazing part of life, and I hope that I can help each student as they learn more about writing and literature! I've tutored since college in 2007, and I have a degree in history. I've studied ancient Greek, and I've worked extensively with research in the field of history.
Helping students improve in their writing and reading is one of my favorite things to do! Teaching means being a coach and cheerleader, and being a tutor gives the unique experience of working one-on-one with students which can be both intense and fun at the same time. Teaching is one of my favorite things to do, and I'm excited that I can do it online as well as in my own home.
I have a bachelor's degree in History, and I've homeschooled my daughter for the past 4 years. I've been a private tutor for the past two years, and I also tutored while I was in college.

My typical process is to first assess where the student currently is, find out what they would like to improve in, and then work with them to help them advance in whatever they need help with. I also like to find their strengths and help them to use their strengths to their advantage as well.
I would advise a student to examine the writing style of the teacher, and I would also advise them to see if they mesh well with the teacher. Teachers should be their biggest cheerleaders as well as be educational coaches.
