About Avalon

I have two years experience as a writing tutor at Cal Poly Pomona, where I worked with students on various types of writing assignments. I also have experience tutoring K-12 students, so I can work with various age groups as I have tutored students from elementary-age to those in their fifities. I have my BA in Psychology from Cal Poly Pomona and will be pursuing a PhD in Sociology. Additionally, I am CRLA Level II certified.

I love working with students of all ages; I find tutoring to be so engaging and rewarding that it hardly feels like work. Seeing progress in a student's writing abilities is extremely motivating and makes this line of work worthwile for everyone involved.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Cal Poly Pomona. As for employment experience, I worked as a writing tutor for two years, in addition to a brief amount of time spent tutoring elementary students.

I am CRLA Level II certified and have worked with students from a wide variety of age groups.

About the lesson

I have experience with elementary-age students as well as college students, from 18 years old to 50/+.

Choose someone who will slow down when you need it and quicken the pace when you need it--essentially, choose someone who listens to what YOU need. Just like most things, tutoring and teaching are highly dependent on communication, so make sure the person you hire communicates openly and effectively.
