About Macyn

My name is Macyn, and I'm 13 years old. All of my life I've been in gifted programs and advanced courses. I have a passion for writing, reading, and comprehension. Even though I am young, I am very intelligent. As a young teenager, I can relate to students and their struggles with pressure. So even though in some ways my age is a disadvantage, it also is a major advantage.

I've always loved teaching, and I realized recently that I could be an amazing teacher one day, so why not start now?

I have just finished 7th grade, but I have learned up to a 10th-grade writing level. My reading skills are ranked at a 1220 Lexile score, which is the average 12th-grade level.

About the lesson

I like to first see what they know, then I like to see the curriculum, then I like to see what the issue is, whether that be comprehension, teaching methods, or something else. I then fit my teaching method to fit the student better.

I have worked with visual learners, audial learners, hands-on learners, mixes between the types, and many other types of students.

I would to always hire somebody for the right reasons, so not because they are your friend or because they are attractive. This is about learning, not finding a date.

Macyn was an excellent tutor. She was very patient with me, and she never got angry if I couldn't understand. She was sure to go above and beyond, she even taught me a small part of the next unit!
