About Joy

I will help the students achieve their successes by working towards their goals with completing their assignments. I have 21 years of tutoring experience and 11 years as an ESL Teacher. At first, I started out as a Volunteer Tutor and am now a professional and certified Tutor. Furthermore, I have worked for 6 different Supplemental Educational Service Tutoring Providers. I have a Bachelors Degree, 4 Associate Degrees, and 3 Certificates. You can find me on LinkedIn and Facebook as well. I am very knowledgeable in many academic subjects and have reasonable rates.

I started teaching by first being a Volunteer Tutor with a non-profit organization. It ended up going further afterwards by me working for 6 different supplemental educational service tutoring providers and one after school program tutoring service for elementary school students. As time passed by, then I worked online by teaching students from China English as a Second Language. I have thoroughly enjoyed it and still do at this time.

I am a professional and certified through the Professional Tutors of America. In addition, I am certified as an English as a Second Language with 11 years of work experience and 21 years of tutoring experience. I have a Bachelors Degree, 4 Associate Degrees, and 3 Certificates that are in a wide variety of areas. Furthermore, I have 2 Certifications which are the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

About the lesson

I would get to know the student and see what he or she needs the most help with when it comes to their academic subjects. My main focus would be on the areas of speaking, reading, writing, fluency, grammar, pronunciation spelling, and/or punctuation.

I have worked with elementary school students, middle school students, and high school students in person within their home, in a coffee shop, at the library, and done the work online as well. Some other students I have worked with are business and professional adults.

The advice that I would give to a student looking to hire a teacher in my area of expertise is to make sure to seek out their qualifications and a great fit as to what your looking for in that particular subject matter.

My pricing system is based on doing lessons by the half-hour and hour. I charge $30.00 for an hour and $25.00 by the half-hour. If anyone is interested, then please take note that lessons can be purchased in a package.
