About Davin
I am an academically accomplished Liberal Arts and English tutor who has been teaching for 5+ years. I have a BA from Occidental College, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude in 3 years with a 3.96 GPA. I specialized in classic literature, theory, philosophy, psychology, and Spanish, Ancient Greek, Latin, and Nahuatl languages. I was able to graduate college in 3 years because I took many AP classes and tests in high school: US History, World History, European History, English Language, English Composition, US Government. I love to help students who are frustrated with these topics learn to excell in them.

I like to start with new students by understanding what they want help with. If they have previous relevant coursework we will go over that together, and students can explain what is especially difficult. If a student is having trouble in History class because he or she isnt sure how to take effective notes, I will show a few examples of notetaking guidelines. The student and I will then practice together, and eventually I will have he or she practice alone. We will review his or her History notes routinely going forward, and make changes based on what works best for the student.
