About Samantha
As a student at UC Berkeley, I am well aware of the rigor of academic life and the importance of being the best you can be. I view tutoring as an opportunity for me to help you or your child achieve this excellence.
I specialize in the fields of English and language arts, social sciences, and visual arts, but have experience and ability in certain math and science fields as well. I achieved a perfect score on the English, Reading, and Science portion of the ACT and currently study sociology. I also teach art and literature to elementary and middle school students in Berkeley.
I understand the stress of standardized tests and school in general, and pride myself in being able to ease that anxiety as much as possible. Together, I believe we not only can work towards academic excellence, but have fun while doing it!
I believe everyone has the potential to not only excel in their studies, but to enjoy them too. I have seen how far a little extra help can go -- in both improving scores and understanding, and in fostering an appreciation of and a passion for the subject matter -- and I take being that help very seriously. I view my education, and my love for what I study, as a great privilige, and I try my very best to pass that onto my students.
