About SUSAN

I've created a relaxing and inspiring space in Roswell where students are better able to focus and learn, away from the distractions of life at home. I meet each student at their level of ability and interest and customize sessions to engage without pressuring.

I teach all language arts subjects for K-12 students. I have an undergrad in English from UCLA with an emphasis in creative writing, I've completed the language arts portion of the MAT, including student teaching and I have a certificate in teaching News Literacy. I have worked and continue to work as a part time freelance writer for many yearrs.

I invite parents and their young human to stop by for a free, initial consultation and check out the "center" for yourself!

About the lesson

During the initial session I begin with conversation and questions that identify interests and personality style. I use an actual interest profile but I take the notes, rather than making the student write out their answers. Depending on what issues have led to their parents seeking out my help, I may also perform some assessments. I use reading, phonics and language assessments that are standard in education and used and approved by Fulton County Schools.
