About Tara
I was a writing tutor for all four years of my undergraduate degree at the Unviersity of Rochester, working with students in all subject areas to fine tune their written assignments. From short lab reports to extensive creative writing projects, I loved helping them take pride in their written work. I am excited to continue helping students in a remote environment.
I am a native English speaker, but during my time as an in-person writing tutor I had many sessions with students for whom English was a second language. I am comfortable working with non-native English speakers to sharpen their vocabulary and grammar, whether for a written piece or just as practice.
I am a Graduate of Vanderbilt Law School, currently studying for the bar exam, so I am well-versed in both legal and academic writing styles as well, should a student need advice or coaching in these areas.

I like to establish workable goals for the time alotted right at the outset. I prefer to hear what the student wants to achieve and see any work they have already completed before diving in. I then work with them to complete their goals, and leave them with concrete suggestions for work they complete outside the session.
