About Matthew
I am a Certified ELA Teacher, teaching grades 5-12 in both Florida and New Jersey. I've been teaching for the past 8 years, and earlier in my youth as a tutor. I love to brighten the minds of my students, and will come up with innovative ways in which I can assist the needs of my students.
I started teaching at a young age. I was a leader in my boy scout troop, helping younger recruits and cub scouts earn different ranks and badges. It was during this time I realized that I really enjoyed helping others.
I have my Bachelors degree in English Writing, as well as 5+ years of teaching.

We will look over the lesson that is being taught in class and go over it together. If the student has any questions or misunderstandings about the lesson I will go over it with them
I worked with multiple types of students, ranging from elementary through high school levels. I worked with children diagnosed with learning disabilities as well as behavior disorders.
A good Language Arts teacher has their students write a lot. This is to build your skills as a writer and to improve handwriting. Writing can also be a form of self-expression, something that is lost in this digital age. Also a good teacher will admit when they don't know the answer to a question, and will always try their best to either research that question or answer it to the best of their ability
I propose to my fiance a at the end of May and currently trying to save up funds to have our dream wedding.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should really be vocal about their needs. If a student is lost on a question, they need to say something. A student can eliminate obvious incorrect choices through the process of elimination. In regards to understanding or learning how something is being taught, however, students should vocalize that they need help. Otherwise students will not succeed.
