About Binish

Hi! I'm Nishy. If you're looking for someone with a multi-dimensional writing background who obsesses about crafting the perfect sentence, then look no further. I have all the degrees and credentials to prove that I am knowledgeable and extensively trained in writing. I graduated from UCI with a degree in Psychology and got my Master in Business Administration in 2015. I started tutoring kids and peers back in high school (2001-2004) and at UCI while I was earning my degree at UCI (2005-2008). Then, I moved onto training professionals in all types of writing, technical, research, creative, etc. I write sketches for Second City Hollywood and UCB Theater, and I'm also a stand-up comedian. I write stories, jokes, podcasts, and perform. That just means I'm fun to work with and easy to get along with.

Watching someone write is like watching a masterpiece being painted, stroke by stroke. I love working with people of all ages because I get insight into their perspective. Writing is an escape from the ordinary and it's also a connection to the ordinary in a unique way. We all grow from it, and I'd be happy to be part of your growth process.

I have been a peer and child tutor since high school and have taught all different levels, ages, and backgrounds. During my Masters in Business Administration, I wrote dozens of papers every week: research, company analysis, creative writing, marketing, advertising, strategy. And as a Second City Conservatory graduate, I have written countless sketches and stand up sets to perform for others and myself.

About the lesson

I'll spend some time getting to know the student by asking questions about what they enjoy doing, where they find the most joy. I like to get to know them so I can better cater to them. Then, we'll review some of their current work. Finally, we will establish intermittent goals.

Details

I charge $40 an hour, for the first hour to give student a writing assessment based on the type of help they need with English. My fee is $30 an hour after the first session.
