About Elise

I'm a current highschool senior that will be attending Boston University next year. School hasn't always been easy for me. I've had to work for my grades and figure out which study methods work. I'd love to help share my knowledge with those struggling, so they can succeed. I've helped my friends with their classes, as well as forming study habits tailored to their needs.

I've struggled with subjects throughout highschool. It was hard for me to find a studying strategy that worked and I had to get a tutor at one point. This really helped me. I better understood the content that was taught and also learned how to make my studying effective for me. I really want to have this effect on others and teach them that they can do well in school.

About the lesson

I'd like to meet with them (or their parent, if they're younger) and discuss their goals. If I'm tutoring for a specific class I'd want to know what chapters they need help with beforehand, so I ensure I'm comfortable with what I'm teaching them. The last thing I want to do is waste time in a session by being unsure of the content I'm teaching. If a student needs help getting homework done on time or figuring out what methods work for them I'd talk to them and figure out ways to motivate their studying and find what works for them.
