About Olivia
As a certified English teacher for the past 8 years, I believe learning should be personalized. I will work to identify your child's literacy strengths and needs to design an individualized learning experience. To engage your child, I will make learning relevant and relatable.
Working as a classroom teacher, it is very infrequent I get to work with students one-on-one for long periods of time. However, with tutoring, it's much more personalized to meet the student's specific literacy needs. I enjoy this aspect of tutoring because it's easier for students to make learning strides in quicker periods of time.

During the summer of 2018, Olivia worked with my son for three hours a week. He has a poor relationship with reading but Olivia selected highly interesting books for him to read. She took into account his interests and reading level to help him grow as a reader. My son looked forward to these weekly sessions because of Olivia's positivity and warmth.
Olivia tutored my son for a year, helping him specifically with the 8th grade ELA exam. With her well-crafted lessons, my son passed with a 3 for the first time ever!
I worked with Olivia for the past three years. She is professional, knowledgeable and kind. Her deep care for student growth and dedication to her pedagogy is rare. I would highly recommend working with Olivia.
