About Rhea
I have edited a plethora of essays for college, American Literature, AP English Language, grant applications, fellowship applications, scholarships applications, and AP Literature for the past four years. My students have honed in their skills to become well-rounded writers, with vast vocabularies and the ability to argue with logic, reason, and in-depth analysis in their papers.
Having worked in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at New York University, I have the skills and the knowledge to take your college application essay to the next level. When I applied to college, I got into Columbia University, NYU, Barnard College, Northeastern, and a couple of other top-tier universities. My students have gotten into the University of Michigan, Northeastern, New York University, and many more schools. I got my degree from NYU, double majoring in Film and TV and Political Science. My concentration within Film and TV was screenplay writing and I developed my skills further by writing briefs, arguments, and cases in the political realm. I now work in the film industry, producing documentaries on Netflix, writing pitches, grant proposals, and applications.
I am incredibly patient, kind, and incredibly passionate about writing—and helping students become stronger writers themselves. I am well-read and have the ability to deliver good writing edits, tips, and suggestions, having taken AP English Language, and getting a perfect score on the exam. I got a perfect score in the writing section of all the standardized tests that I took in high school—ACT and SAT included.
The past four years of editing college essays, high school essays, and cover letters have been a pleasure and I have shaped my writing skills and tutoring skills along the way.
I began editing different writing pieces, first, for college essays, but then began branching out once my students began seeing results.
I understand the college application process because of my work in the Undergraduate Admissions Office at NYU. During the past four years, I have tutored and edited essays for a myriad of students applying to colleges across the country.
My concentration in screenplay writing within my BFA in Film and Television at NYU gave me an edge when it came to creative writing. I oversaw the creative scripting of a number of projects and pitched to creative teams and companies, including Netflix. That scripting and creative writing translates to the classroom and emphasizes my own ability to go beyond being an analytical writer.
However, I still believe that my analytical writing is one of my strongest. I have edited essays for AP US Government, AP English Language, and AP Literature, bringing students grades from the C-D range to the A range within weeks of editing. I try to edit to help students learn, and take their skills beyond that specific class or essay. Writing is such an important skill in the real world, as it helps you communicate your ideas.

Typically, I would like the student to send me their essay, draft, or outline at least one day before we meet so I can mark it up and go over it with them. I also like to talk through what they are trying to articulate in their piece and juxtapose it with what actually comes through. I am very open to any suggestions on how to tackle an essay and will be more than happy to work alongside you during your own process.
I have worked with a huge range of students. Students who just need someone to take a look at their work and students who need to work on their writing from the ground up.

I’m a college student who struggled with persuasive writing. Rhea Dudani not only improved my paraphrasing of quotations and important textual evidence, but also my conceptualizing of ideas and usage of literary devices (if any) to develop a strong thesis. Most English tutors tend to overcomplicate information when they’re trying to get their point across, but Rhea Dudani is simple and direct, which makes it so much easier to absorb key elements and details of her lesson.
