About Melissa
I am a young, female professional with 10+ years of tutoring experience. I currently work at iHeartRadio as a Marketing Manager - but I have always had a passion for helping others and tutoring is something I do on my own time.
I believe getting additional help on schoolwork is extremly imporant for students that may feel they are falling behind. Every student understands information differently, what works for one student may not work for another. I am dedicated to helping students put in the extra hours and gian the confidence they need to succeed. There is no shame in seeking a tutor - as a child I was tutored in Math for years. A one-to-one session with a subject matter expert is a valuable service for students and can really make a difference in their lives.
I attended Northeastern University and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Communications.
While at Northeastern I was a student mentor for Freshman students. In this role I was a tutor available for homework help, study skills, essay writing, resume writing, and essay editing. I also was a culture liason for students to ensure they were adjusting to the college cluture. Starting a new class or school can be intimidating, and there are people that can help make the transition easier!
Throuhought my High School career I worked as the Managing Editor of our school Newspaper, a student peer mentor, and an english tutor for students needing help with reading, writing, editing etc.
