About Gabriel

I'm Gabriel! I graduated magna cum laude from NYU Tisch School of the Arts where I double majored in English/American Literature and Acting! I have always been an avid reader and writer, so I greatly enjoy working alongside students who desire to do both well! In high school, I participated and led my school's National Honors Society. Through this organization, I tutored many of my peers, often with a focus on English Literature. During college, I enjoyed editing other students' papers and providing constructive feedback about the structure and content of their essays. I really enjoy helping students sculpt all of the creative elements that go into writing a paper - the research, the quotes, the structure. Then, I love getting down to the nitty gritty grammatical details once the paper is written and ready to be edited. It is such an accomplishment to write something that one is proud of and excited about! I love being a part of that process.

I have many years of essay editing experience, having edited hundreds of my own and other students' in the English program at NYU. I have 2 years of one-on-one tutoring experience in English, AP English Literature, AP English Language and Composition, ACT & SAT English/Reading/Writing, and Common App Essay Writing. My experience has given me the opportunity to develop many strategies to help focus students in a kind, encouraging, and empowering manner.

Previous writing clients of mine have gained acceptance into top college and PhD programs including Harvard and Columbia University.

I want to empower the students that I work with as much as possible. As such, I welcome any suggestions parents have as to best motivate and benefit their student. It is incredibly satisfying to witness a student imbue their writing with their own authentic voice. I love helping students to distill their plethora of ideas into a concise, persuasive argument that displays their unique point of view. I believe that the most equipped writers can articulate their opinions in writing just as organically as they can through speech. It is my mission to empower students to find their voice through their writing.

I earned a BA in English/American Literature with high honors from NYU. I have been tutoring independently for 2 years, serving clients around the country through online and in-person tutoring, coaching, and editing sessions.

About the lesson

I typically do 1 free phone consultation with parents to assess their child’s needs. I’m interested in their confidence level with writing, their proficiency in grammar, and any particular goals or assignments that they are working on.
