About Carson
Hi there! My name is Carson, and I recently graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor's degree! As a recent transfer to the New York City area, I am currently looking for new students to tutor. While a student at UCLA, I became a member of the nation's most prestigious honor society, Phi Beta Kappa, and worked with the Undergraduate Admissions Department, where I got to interact with prospective students and parents on a daily basis. Tutoring has always been something that I've been passionate about. Growing up in a household where my mother was a teacher, education was always said to be on of the most important tools a person can have in this life, and I couldn't agree more. My main experience lies with high schoolers who are preparing to enter college, but I also have experience as a teacher's assistant at my mother's elementary school, so no age limits here. My favorite topics include Literature, College Essay Prep, and Drama. If you're looking for an energetic and organized tutor, I'm your guy!
I have a B.A. from UCLA, graduated in the top 5% of my graduating class, and worked with the heads of the Undergraduate Admissions Department during my time there.

When I first work with a student, I like to get to know them! Getting a better understanding of who the student is allows us to build a foundation of trust. Besides that, I like to observe their work (past tests, essays, etc.) and see where we can improve their skills.
I've worked with elementary school kids as a teacher's assistant, high schoolers, and college students as a writing coach.
Be prepared and ready to ask questions! There are no dumb questions and any sort of troubles you're having, I've probably been there. You're here to learn and grow your abilities, and all I want to do is foster those cares.
