About Mary
I love editing and proofreading, and am very skilled with it. I love children, and have been around them a lot. I help my cousin with his college essays, and would love to be able to help you as well! I am very patient and organized. I speak clearly, have good grammar, and am always presentable.
Well, this is my first time working with a tutoring service, but I love editing and proofreading, and I love helping others, so I thought I would try this out :)
It would have to be because of my mother. She taught at the school I went to for a long time. In my senior year, I would help her with her sixth grade science classes. Another reason I am interested in teaching, or in this case tutoring, is because of my piano teacher. He is the reason I taught piano for a couple of summers.
I was a teaching assistant for a few classes while I was in high school. I also taught beginning piano for two summers. I help my cousin with his essays, and he always gets good grades when I help him, versus when I was not able to.

I like to get to know the student, and for them to know me. I am very good at adapting and am flexible. I always want them to know that they can rely on me.
I have worked with 3rd and 4th graders as well as 6th and 10th graders.
Make sure that you can communicate with them. If you do not understand what they are saying, just talk with them. You may feel uncomfortable, but they genuinely want to help you. If you tell them that you are not understanding them, they will want to help fix that so that you do understand. If you do not understand their teaching style, then tell them. If they cannot adapt, then find someone who can.
I am generally a happy person, so I am fond of pretty much every day.
