About Anais
I love writing and literature and always have, but I know the subject can be difficult for many students to grasp and succeed in. I am very patient and understanding with those who get frustrated with this subject and am determined to help students produce work that they're proud of.
Most of my writing consultant experience lies within college essays, creative writing, and research papers, but no style of paper is out of my wheelhouse. I have also worked directly with college professors through my University's writing center (Grand Valley State University), which gives me an inside scoop on the elements of a paper that schools and professors think make a good paper.
I love meeting people from all walks of life and learning about them. Tutoring for writing let's me have this experience, as writing is extremely personal and often frightening to share.
Also, there's nothing more gratifying than hearing a student tell me that they're proud of the work they've done.

Because writing is a very personal subject, it's important to me to spend a healthy amount of time getting to know a new student and making them feel comfortable with me. I spend at least a few minutes chatting to establish a rapport, followed by reviewing past papers that the student has written. The best education is experience, the more time that students spend reviewing their own work, the more confident they will feel in future writing endeavors.
