About Miranda
I enjoy teaching others how to enjoy reading and writing. English is one of my favorite things to learn about and I think that some people don't like it because of the way it is taught to them. I can provide reliability and understanding to explain things in different ways to get the message across.
One of my favorite experiences as a tutor is watching others begin to understand and enjoy writing. While working at the Menlo College Academic Success Center I have had a few regular students who I've seen grow and develop into great writers. I love my job because I am allowed to play a part in someone's personal and academic development.
I got started tutoring in high school where I was a peer tutor in the AVID program reviewing college essays and helping guide class sessions.
I have been a writing center tutor at Menlo College for the past 3 years where I have undergone training sessions and worked with students one-on-one to improve their writing skills.
