About Jacobi

I deliver a personal learning experience that takes into account each student's unique background and learning style, and motivate students by encouraging them to have fun and not stress out!

As a former student who was in desperate need of math tutoring, I love being able to give back and help students of all ages achieve their personal and academic goals!

I have always had a knack for writing high quality work quickly and I would usually write the papers for group projects. My reputation as a writer grew by word-of-mouth and I was soon a highly sought after peer tutor who could help improve individual essays as well as develop peoples' skills as a writer.

After college, a former student of mine recommended me to a tutoring center that was in great need of a teacher who could patiently juggle multiple students and the rest is, as they say, history!

I have a B.A. in Geography from the University of Washington and spent 4 years as a peer-to-peer writing tutor in college. After graduating, I worked in a small tutoring center where I taught 3 subjects to over 20 students.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic I have taught students virtually and have branched out to fill a wide variety of positions as a freelance writer.

About the lesson

I take time to get to know my students and learn their exact strengths and weaknesses. I then work with them to establish ambitious yet achievable goals and curate unique, tailor-fit curriculum according to each student's need.

This usually takes the form of an introductory double-length session where I both assess the student's level and then begin our first lesson.

I have primarily worked with college students, k-12 immigrant children who often do not speak very much English, and young adults seeking to improve their own technical writing abilities.

I generally charge $20 per student per session, with an additional $10 per student from the same household and a maximum of up to 3 students simultaneously.
