About Alexander

My name is Alexander Greco. Teaching is my calling, passion and devotion. I was raised in a family of educators as well as superintendents. I believe that given the opportunity, I can bring high levels of student expectations, compassion, understanding, and positive relationship models to any classroom.

I received my Education Specialist degree in Administration and Educational Leadership as I pursued my Ph.D. I possess a Master’s in the Art of Teaching, with a focus on Communication and English as well as a Bachelor’s in Education with an emphasis in Language Arts. I have my Principal certification that covers K-12. I am also certified to teach Language Arts/English in grades 6-12, as well as, Social Studies grades 9-12.

I was called to this profession later in life. I was a chef fpor years and noticed the need for reading comprehension and understanding through the struggles of my staff. I left the cooking field and went to college with the hope and dreams of helping others with understanding the complexities and importance of understanding and interpreting our language and literature.

I have been a public school principal from pre-k all through high school levels. I have been in the field over ten years and continue to learn and master new practies that help those that come to me for guidance.

About the lesson

I like to get to know that students before the lesson begins. I ask about strengths and weaknesses as well as what the goals for the student are. Once a rapport has been established I will tailor all lessons the the needs of the students.

I have worked with students right out of prison, to those that were accepted into Ivy League Universities. I am comfortable with all levels of students.

A student needs to read, read, read. When you believe that your are finished reading, then read some more.

I recenly met a student on the street who used to be a rug addict in high school He explained that from my mentoring and caring attitude he was inspired to become a police officer. Now he fight the abuse with a badge and a smile knowing he has changed and wants to do the same for others. He credited me with his transformation.

Details

The pricing will depend on the rigor and the needs of the students. Basic tutoring in regards to comprehension will begin at $15 per half hour. Writing and editing as well as analysis of literature will begin around $30 per half hour. The more intense the need, the fee can vary. I will also work with those that have trouble with paying in order to make sure that what we accomplish will lead to success.
