About Tashika
I currently work as a high school counselor and transformational coach. I have over 10 years of experience supporting students with academics as well as social emotional components. I genuinely care about the overall well being of my clients and I excel at getting them from point A-Z.
I've worked with tutored and mentored k-12 th grade students since I was in college working on my bachelors in English. I later became a Program Director for the Boys and Girls Club where I helped to establish after school tutoring programs for students. I later became a high school counselor for LAUSD.
I am a high school counselor. I have worked as a substitute teacher in the k-12 sector, a math tutor, I majored in English. and i committed to 500 hours of community service with Americorps; supporting high school students with developing their math and English skills.

I take time to understand the students strengths and opportunities for growth. I explain to the student my expertise and how I can best support them.
I've worked with at-risk and advanced placement students.
Ask questions to see if your teacher is a good fit for you and ask questions regarding their expertise to get a well rounded perspective.
During this academic school year, I provided tutoring and social emotional support to one of my students on my caseload. She began completing more of her assignments and bringing up her grades. That made me really proud.
