Bicoff English Coaching offers clients global coverage through tutor-led, online virtual classes.

The virtual classes are available in English and Spanish, for both one-to-one and group training.

How it works

I deliver lessons in online virtual classrooms, using an enterprise-level platform which provides high-definition video and audio, even in locations with restricted bandwidth.

The virtual classrooms are equipped with all required functionality, such as live chat, screen-sharing, virtual break out rooms and resource sharing. Online classes can even be recorded for playback.

One-to-one virtual classes are perfect for remote workers, staff in inaccessible locations, and those who travel frequently or have unpredictable schedules.

Virtual group classes are ideal for large organisations with multiple sites. Learners can join in from different locations at the same time, creating potential for great economies of scale.

I probably first considered being a teacher in seventh grade.

A new student joined our class. His name was Roderick. I found school easy, but he did not. I took him under my wing and tried to help him with our classes, especially math. I remember thinking to myself, “I like helping people this way. I could be a teacher.”

Once I got to high school, I wanted to be a fiction writer like my favorite author, Stephen King. He started out as a teacher, so I decided to teach until I sold my first novel. That novel never came, but I’m pretty happy doing what I’m doing. I’ve made a bigger difference this way.

When working with a prospect, the most important aspect of the entire process is building a rapport. At this point in time, students have potentially struggled with various topics, so the importance of instilling confidence in them before any tutoring begins is essential to their success. Nevertheless, prior to scheduling sessions, I like to meet with the student and/or parent(s). We work hand in hand to build their specialized plan of action. Students create a detailed description of their current situation and their desired results. Next, we come up with a set of goals and how to implement the plan of action appropriately in order to accomplish said results. This plan depends on the immediate needs of the student, but many plans include some sort of accommodation to pre and post-session communication inorder to track progress.
