About Kendra

Current Senior at Cornell University majoring in Philosophy and Government with a minor in Law and Society. Patient and adaptive tutor who will work to accommodate students of all learning types! I have been a tutor for five years now and have helped students of all ages. AP tests and classes are my specialty. My first lesson will consist of determining your learning style and how you best absorb information, a diagnostic assessment to identify areas of trouble or needed improvement, and discussion of plans moving forward. I look forward to working with you!

I have a love for knowledge and for helping others learn in the manner that is best suited to them. Everyone can learn, but traditional environments don't always cater to the individual's needs--that's where tutoring comes in! I also find that I can learn quite a lot from my students as well.

I am a 4th year student at Cornell University who has experience tutoring for 5 years. I have worked as a tutor for Varsity Tutors for the past year and previously have accepted jobs on other platforms and services.

About the lesson

The first session will serve as a diagnostic where I identify their learning style as well as areas that may need improvement. I like to open a comfortable dialogue with my students so they can learn in a comfortable and welcoming environment.

I've worked with students from elementary school age to college, all with varied levels of needs and goals.

Be open and communicative about your needs and expectations! I can only help you so far as you let me. English is a beautiful subject that holds something for everybody. The way I learned to read was through fantasy and sci-go novels and I haven't stopped since. We just have to find your niche.

I help organize and plan a collegiate international affairs conference where peers come together to discuss and understand world problems. This meeting of minds and the knowledge and experience it begets is one of my favorite things this year.

My preferred rate depends on the level of material being taught and the time I will spend outside of the lesson planning and preparing. On average, however, I charge about $20/hr though this is a flexible rate.
