About Raven

Hello! I am currently a 2nd year high school resource and inclusion teacher. I graduated college in 2018 with a degree in Special Education, Mild to Moderate Applications. I am certified to teach any grade Kindergarten to 12th grade! Math and English are my favorite subjects to tutor in, but I'm competent in most subjects!

Before beginning my professional teaching career, I acquired almost 1,500 hours in a variety of field placements. I have experience in all grades, general education and special education! I've also spent numerous summers volunteering in camps for people with disabilities.

My passion for teaching is something that I've always had. I consider myself a life-long learner and strive to help others progress towards their goals! In my first year teaching, I was nominated for the SC CEC Rookie Teacher of the Year award! In my free time, I also coach varsity lacrosse at a local high school and hang out with my dog, Nova.

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or needs!

I LOVE getting to meet new people and figure out how to address the problems they're experiencing. Being a special education teacher, I believe that everyone can learn! I also possess the skills to make learning accessible to ANYONE! I love seeing light-bulb moments and helping people reach their goals.

About the lesson

First, I like to get to know the student on a more personal level! I care about their interests, hobbies, and aspirations. I also try to figure out their struggles. I try to tie in their interests into their learning.
