About Grace

My background in the arts informs my tutoring in the form of creative problem solving and taking unique approaches.

Arts education is a passion of mine because I know how the arts changed my life. I believe that the life skills learned through theatre can be applied to any topic.

I started working in children's theatre at the age of 14 and was inspired to teach by my mother, who is a third grade teacher. I went on to

I am currently in my third year of college with majors in Theatre and Finance. I have studied arts education in college particularly relating to children with special needs. I have taught for 5 years at Oregon Children's Theatre and Northwest Children's Theatre. I started by own theatre camp for children in the foster care system and taught for 3 years. I have tutored for 3 years in math and writing in the third grade. I have experience working with children on the spectrum as well as a range of special needs. For all of these reasons, I am confident in teaching elementary through high school in

About the lesson

I work mainly in Children's Theatre with age groups 4-16. I adopt a student-first mentality and treat each lesson by meeting them where they are at. Offering creative problem solving and guiding students through their work without telling them how it should be done is what I tend to focus on. I am prepared to tutor elementary through high school in English, Math and Financial Literacy. I can offer individual or group Vocal Lessons, Theatre lessons and Dance as well. My mother, Jennifer Cleary or Mrs. Cleary is a third grade teacher at Stephenson Elementary and has allowed me to use her teaching materials in my own tutoring. while tutoring students in her class, she can share the work the students are doing with me so during the lessons I can follow along.

For three years I worked with students in the foster care system ages 5-16. I am most accustom to working with elementary and middle school students. I also tutor in Math, and English to Elementary through High School Students

Kate

I was blown away by Gracie’s knowledge of the craft, skills in communicating to her students and leadership in running the organization. Her positive attitude inspires her students and her enthusiasm for performance arts is infectious. She made the programming and schedule very user friendly. She hired excellent instructors. And she met her students at their own individual level. In short, Gracie is beyond her years as an instructor, educator and mentor. As a personal note, she has given my own daughter a beautiful example to follow - she is an excellent role model!!
