About Charla
I've been an educator and teacher in Denver Public Schools and Boulder Valley Schools since 2009. I have experience teaching secondary Langauge Arts and I have a Master Degree in Currculum and Development from the University of Colorado at Denver. I am bi-lingual in English and Spanish. I love teaching, working with young people, and beleive that learning should be fun and is for everyone. I've worked with students from all diffrent racial backgrounds, socio-economic statuses, linguistic backgrounds, and students with IEP's and learning differences. I promise I will support your child in completing the task and improving their relationship with learning.
I have six years teaching experience as a secondary English teacher, I am bi-lingual in English and Spanish, I have a Master degree in Curriculum and Instruction and I have been working with youth in school and community based settings for over 15 years. I currently teach college students and run community based programming in schools with middle and high school students.

Building a relationship and understanding the student as a person is key to any student-tutor relationship. By learning about your interests we can work on finding ways to make the content relatable and applicable. Having fun and laughter are part of my style. High expectations and setting and reaching goals is also key to making sure that we know the work that is ahead and can celebrate success and growth along the way.
