About Andy

My goal is uplift my students to a standard above the rest. I am an English major looking to help out anyone that I can when it comes to writing and literary anaylsis. I have been tutoring since high school, so I have several years of experience in tutoring others. I am satisified when you are excelling!

I love reading and writing, but I understand others are not so fond of it. My goal is to find the fun in these subjects by forming positive and motivational mindsets!

I want to make an impact on the community around me. Education is the tool used to build up communities that need to be be the dwelling grounds of prosperity and growth. If I can help form someone who makes a different for their family, neighborhood, or entire community, then it will have been worth all the struggle it took to get to this point of my life.

I am an English Education major, and I am in the process of getting my masters in English education. I have taken several classes in education and English, so my understanding of the subject of not only English, but effective methods of teaching and lesson planning is very advanced.

About the lesson

I try to gauge where a student does well and where a student struggles in a certain subject. I like for them to write a quick diagnostic essay about any subject they like. This is a good way to gauge what they are doing well in and what are the concepts they need work in. Once this is completed, then we can focus on those weaknesses becoming strengths!

I have worked with students with various different backgrounds. I have worked with students who have Special Education needs, IEPs, talented and gifted, and many other backgrounds.
