About Sarah
My work as an educator stands out for my ability to pin point what is causing the misunderstanding and reteaching to the core problem with various examples and methods. There is no point in trying to drill in a concept the same way over and over again when it just is not sticking, which happens and is okay.
When it comes to analyzing text, creating argument, or disecting literature, I love to pull multiple examples from different mediums in order to show how something works holistically, not just to get the assignment completed. True learning is achieved when the skills improve your life, not just your grade in class.
Aside from the satisfaction of watching an individual improve in an subject matter, I genuinely love discussing literary themes and breaking down arguments. Rhetoric is such an important part of our daily lives, and I pride myself on passing on life skills. But for real, I geek out on literary themes. It's embarrassing.
With a degree in English and a minor in secondary education, I have taught English at many levels for several years. I have missed certain aspects of teaching that I enjoyed in my 5 years in the public school system, and I am hoping to continue helping individuals with the skill set and experience that I am blessed to have.
