I think it is very important to spend some time getting to know each student. Understanding how they learn best and what their expectations are for tutoring. I believe this sets the student up for success.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should have an honest opinion regarding areas they find challenging and know what they want to get from a tutoring session/s.

Carmela was a major factor in my success during my pursuit of my graduate degree. She was one of my favorite instructors not only due to her broad range of subject knowledge, but most importantly her ability to challenge my thinking. She provided efficient and effective feedback which allowed me to learn and advance with each assignment. She was instrumental in helping me perfect my writing skills - even though that was not a main focus of her particular course. Carmela is truly passionate about helping others and it shows in her ability to tailor her assistance to the needs of each individual.

My pricing ranges from $25 - $40 per session. It depends on the subject matter and type of tutoring needed. This includes a 15 min introductory time on our first lesson. An email report regarding the activities and performance of each session within 24 hours of the lesson. A monthly (up to 30 min) phone call with the parents to discuss progress, satisfaction, and discuss objectives for the next month.
