About Spencer
My name is Spencer Shimek, and I am offering remote tutoring services in English, social studies, history, and biology, starting at any time that would work best for you. I have four years of both paid and volunteer teaching experience with students ranging from 1st Grade to 12th Grade, and I am a recent graduate of Yale University.
Please feel free to contact me if you feel uncomfortable returning to school (or letting your student return to school) as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to worsen across the United States. I will be tutoring remotely, but I can do so by phone if you are unable to set up Zoom or other video chat software.

I have four years of teaching experience on both a professional and volunteer basis.
Since 2016, I have volunteered as an instructor for (concealed information) designing and coordinating seminars about New Haven's history and politics. In 2017, I worked with a summer school program in my county that provided educational opportunities for differently-abled and special needs elementary school students. The following summer, I became an instructor for Yale Young Global Scholars, where I deepened my teaching experience among an older, larger, and more international cohort of students.
I have four years of academic writing experience, and currently work as a volunteer writer for a political non-profit based in Chicago.
