About Ashley
Hello! My name is Ashley Fassett English has been always been a hobby and a passion of mine. So much so that I went on to major in English Education at Eastern Michigan University. With a year of teaching experience under my belt, and years of tutoring (both formal and informal), I am dedicated to finding helping you figure out your learning style and personalizing your lessons to your needs.
My specialites include college essays, British literature (with an emphasis on Shakespeare), and American literature, but I am well versed in high school English curriculum.
I have a bachelor's degree in both English and theatre education at the secondary level (grades 6-12). This includes a public speaking certification.
I have always loved English and this was the natural progression of that!

Questionaire to determine what they are looking to achieve/ what their goals are, establishing their learning style, developing a realistic plan of action (pacing guide, calendar, or even just a list), introducing myself and explaining how I operate to make sure we are the right fit, and then getting down to the work!
I have worked with ELLs, students post-transplant, students with Autism, and general education students.
Look for someone who can teach to your mode of learning. Not every tutor is right for every student. English is a tricky subject in that essay writing and interpreting literature can be so subjective. You have to find someone who can help you understand the nuances in English without teaching at you. You want someone who can teach with you and meet you halfway.
