About Aleksander
I am a graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a double major in history and international relations. I am passionate about languages, writing, research, and, not surprisingly, history and politics. I currently teach writing at Varsitythis website and am working to obtain my TEFL certificate. I will help you with your writing, reading, research, and/or historical thinking skills, as well as help you understand complex concepts that may be hard to grasp. It gives me great pleasure when one of my students not only succeeds in their class but comes out of one of my sessions feeling confident they can do their work independently. Learning is messy. Students need to feel like they can make mistakes. I strive to ensure a relaxing and comfortable session for each of my students.
I first started teaching at school! Explaining concepts and helping my peers was a passion of mine. But it was only after college that I started taking it seriously.
I have a degree in history and international relations from Johns Hopkins University-- two writing-centric fields.

With every new student, I make sure to understand who they are as a person and know how to help them best.
I have worked with students whose native languages were not English, and worked with students who had learning disabilites.
I love traveling. Argentina has become like a second home to me while learning Spanish.
