About James
Hello,
I am a recent Aerospace Engineering graduate from the Unviersity of Florida. In college I achieved a gpa of 3.6/4.0 and had an internship with NASA. My main area of focus was computational fluid dynamics (cfd) which deals with solving complex fluid flow problems using computers. Because of this, I am well versed in topics of computer science along with aerospace engineering.
I am tutoring because I plan on becoming a usaf pilot, but I first need to get LASIK. During the 6+ months I will have off due to this I plan on tutoring. I have always loved teaching others, and with my background, I think I can really help students out.
My main areas of interest are:
- math: up to calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations (I will happily teach lower level math as well).
- science: I am well versed in college level Chemistry, Biology, and Physics
- technology: I can teach computer fundamentals along with python (opencv, numpy, etc..) and matlab
- Engineering: teach CAD using SolidWorks and ANSYS along with FEA (SolidWorks, ANSYS) and CFD (SolidWorks, ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM)

I love making people understand a subject. I often find that school incentivizes memorization, this causes students to forget material after the test. This technique will only go so far and catches up to students often in college. In college professors expect you to remember material from 4+ years ago, the best way to do this is to truly understand material and not just memorize it for an exam.

Just reach out to me and we can set something up. As I said in my profile I have a couple of months that are fairly empty, my schedule is pretty flexible so we should be able to work something out.
It is a difficult question because often it is not a question of finding the smartest tutor or the one with the highest qualifications. Theories of learning often suggest that an optimal teacher will push a student just past his capacities; learning should be challeneging, but not so challenging that it demotivates a student. My advice would be to find someone who challeneges you but keeps the subject interesting.
