About Drew
I started teaching by being an instructor for marching bands. During marching band season I primarily worked with the trombones and tubas. I then decided to teach at the elementary level from 2017-current. Outside of being an educator I teach piano lessons on the side.
I have a B.A. in music and have taught music for about 10 years in different settings. I have taught at the high school level, elementary level and piano lessons.

When working with a new student (depending on their age) I like to ask questions about what are their person goals. I will give them an assessment to see where they are and based on their goals I will have a catered lesson plans to meet their learning goals.
I have worked with a variety of students from the ages of 7-18. I have worked with students who are gifted and have learning disabilities.
Any student looking to hire a teacher in my field should look for a teacher who has a plan in mind to help them reach their goals. If you don't have a goal make sure your instructor has lesson plans for you.
The most recent event that I am proud of is when my elementary chorus and percussion students performed a holiday concert. It took about 4 months to prepare for their concert. We had many rehearsals and students were required to practice outside of rehearsals. Students willingly came to my classroom to rehearse their music without my assistance.

Details
For piano lessons (ages 7-11) I use Alfred's Kid's Piano Book and charge 25/hr.
For composition and music theory (12 and up) I charge 32.00/hr.
