INDIVIDUALITY

I tune in with the student with empathy and patience. There is always a struggle and its solution. I have a broad experience educational and professional from Classical to Jazz and a big heart on Pop and Rock. I know different techniques that might work better for one student and not be working for another.

I observed my father teaching classical guitar several hours a day for almost two decades. His method was strictly following series of exercises proven to be highly effective. It was passed on to him by his teacher Elena Padovani who was a protege of Andres Segovia. He had the same repertoire for his course which every student would go through.

I have learned from him that teaching individual lessons is about adjusting the content to every student. Every student had a different phisical, musical challenge in a same given piece.

Like in my father's approach, I tune in with the student with empathy and patience. There is always a little struggle and solutions.

My student's achievements are my achievements.

I enjoy anything about music as personal growth. Teaching is a way to give back part of that joy. I have several former students back in my home country who shipped me CD's of their bands or projects. They thank me to expose them to different styles of music and techniques. Their achievents become my achievement.

I was teaching in a private school right after my conservatory diploma. Mostly for making some money extra besides my gigs. when I started to see my student becoming passionates about music and some telling me "the previous teacher wasn't good" you know it is a wonderful boost! I knew the teacher was good but maybe couldnt transmit the passion.

I studied Classical music in a music conservatory (Italy). I toured extensively and recorded with several artists and bands. I then moved to the USA where I earned a BFA in Jazz performance and minor in K-12 music education. My NY state teacher certification is in progress. Most importantly, I am keeping up with my career development practicing drums and designing my course. Teachers who helped me to develop my drumming are Dom Famularo, Carl Allen, Agostino Marangolo, and Max Furian. I also took private lesson with Shawn Pelton, Ari Hoenig and John Riley.

About the lesson

At first I will evaluate the level of my student on technique and readiness. I will get to know his musical interest and goals. Then I will set up an instructional plan accordingly to those elements. My private lessons are being recorded so the student can always access those new information at any time.

I worked with a broad spectrum of students. From the unmotivated child, the "difficult" child often udiagnosed ASD, ADHD and the motivated parent with a fult time job and family struggle. I have been in those shoes so I can symphatise. Knowing my students and theyr struggles informs my lesson planning and approach.

Seek a good teacher who studied with great teachers like I did. Do not expect results solely because you are getting lessons. There is some work to do on your part.

Very recently a student from Italy sent me a Spotify link of his favorite music to check out. An Italian rock band called Twintera. The album is called Propaganda. I liked them so much and I started to follow them on Instagram. Then I find out Massimo, the drummer of Twintera was my student and how much he treasured the lessons and the inspiration I gave him. A great pleasure and pride came along this discovery.
