About Melinda
I taught myself how to draw and paint so I encourage my students to learn their techniques and their personality in their work. We can learn from the masters, but we must use our knowledge for our own art.
I love meeting new people and helping them bring out their creative side. We all have an artistic ability of some kind and it's very satisfying to see someone find theirs.

At our first meeting, we discuss what type of art to teach (drawing or painting) and what medium (pencil or pen for drawing, painting is just acrylic for now). I also learn how much training, if any, my student has taken. Depending on what they want to learn, I give them a supply list and we schedule the first lesson. The first lesson consists of going over the materials and setting up a lesson plan. Lessons are once a week for 1.5 hours with a minimum of four weeks. Since lesson plans are custom designed per student, the duration will vary from student to student.
