About Lynn

I double majored in Art Education and Elementary Education and graduated in 1990. As part of my curriculum, I took classes in all types of mediums. I have continued to practice my art for both personal pleasure and as paid experiences. I have a deep and abiding love for art and hope to instill this into my students.

Art is a means of expression but it is also a superb form of relaxation. I surprise even myself when I complete a particularly good piece. I enjoy the wonderment of those around me who enjoy my work.

I have shown a natural affinity towards art since I was a child so going into the art field seemed like a logical progression.

I have a BS in Art Education K-12 and a Master degree in Exceptional Student Education. I taught at Michaels, as well, for over two years working with both children and adults. I am also a working artist who presently concentrates on pet portraits.

About the lesson

I first determine the artistic level of the student and then discuss their artistic goals. I then begin with the basic techniques. A strong knowledge of basic techniques is the stepping stone to more advance techniques.

I have worked with students as young as 5 and as old as 83.

I would make sure that in addition to technical know-how, the teacher and the student develop a genuine affection for one another.

This Christmas I painted portraits of my youngest daughter’s pet chickens and my oldest daughter’s cat. I posted them on Facebook and received over 1700 likes and multiple comments. This certainly boosted my confidence.

I charge $20 for beginning classes. Should you wish to further your skills, I will certainly work with you. My goal is to foster the love of art.
