I took a zoom class this morning with another gal from the Macon area, one from Florida and a young woman from Germany... he’s getting awfully popular!!! I had never painted in my life. I was encouraged by a friend to take a class with her. I not only enjoyed my creative time painting my first painting, I really loved the funished product. I couldn’t believe that I could come close to a resemblance of something I would treasure and put on my wall, but that’s exactly where it hangs!
Micah is so good at making it looks easy with his step by step instructions. Right when you know something doesn’t look right he’s to the rescue, helping you to visualize where you are going. His patients, creativity and knowledge are what makes him and excellent artist and teacher for all levels.
I continue to paint and take classes from Micah several years later and continue to learn valuable lessons.

In 2016 I had to medically retire. I was so lost! A friend invited me to see a guest artist demonstrate painting in inks (I hadn’t done anything artistically since the mid 80’s). His calmness and patience were only outmatched by his talent. I was hooked and signed up immediately for his mixed media workshop... then I became a weekly student. I had never painted before and I was in a class with novices through professional artists! Three months later he encouraged me to enter the Georgia National Fair’s Fine art competition 😳. I didn’t place that year, but I got my feet wet, and with his encouragement and connections, hung and sold my work in various venues. Four years later I’m still amazed at his ability to meet each artist where they are; the “I can’t draw a straight line” students to “award winning, professional artist” students all at the same time! *I love the way he uses his degree in Art therapy in such subtle ways that sometimes the lightbulb goes off hours, days, months later. You’ll often hear his students say when working on pieces at home, “I heard you in my head, Micah!” 🤗
