About Kathleen

We specialize in classical style drawing,illustration and painting. It is our pleasure to encourage our students to develop their creativity and make great art!

As a professional artist, my friends and neighbors would ask me to teach their children, themselves and their parents. It quickly became a very busy part of my life. I love teaching and I approach it with a desire to spark the creativity and joy of making beautiful art in all my students.

I have been a professional artist, illustrator and art educater for over 20 years

About the lesson

I like to start by working on basic drawing techniques with professional supplies. Each class we will work on compleating a finished drawing in order to build the students confidence. Focusing on design, scale and creating an elegant line we then move into light and shadow, how to shade and develop dimension. I am committed to developing the unique style of each student so that they realize their own artistic voice.

I have worked with very young students all the way up to people in their nineties. I teach primarily adults, but I enjoy teaching all ages.

I recently received all my Covid 19 vaccines and feel like the world is opening up again.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I encourage art students to think about what they wish to express with art. Is it nature, people, emotion, color, light. It is always a good idea to be thinking about what you would enjoy drawing and come to your teacher with that in mind. I like to help people create a portfolio of drawings that they love about subjects that interest them.
