About Ree

I'm a self taught artist with a passion for teaching and a knack for working with kids. My background in education and my self-taught nature means that I'm good at breaking things down into steps that people who're unexperienced can understand, and am good at teaching students how to teach themselves and become their own teacher. I'm passionate about art, deeply and truely, and I love to share that with others. Before doing freelance I taught art classes for the community through local co-ops, along with previously working for a Paint-and-Sip.

I was a self taught artist and homeschooler- I grew up learning how to teach myself and my siblings. Before I graduated high school I had taught 3 classes for local students, and out of high school got a job at a Paint-and-Sip. While I have no formal training, so to speak, I have plenty of real world experience.

About the lesson

I start by taking the time with a student to go over what they know and what they'd like to know through a few fun test- together we break down what they know, what they enjoy, what they're not confident in, and what they want to accomplish. From there I build a lesson plan around the student that highlights the things they need to improve while still creating the things they love to create- making sure that they're being pushed to improve while also strengthening their love to create.
