About Alexandra

I am a multidisciplinary visual artist and art educator who believes art is a powerful way to understand ourselves and the world around us. Through painting, illustration, and creative exploration, I help students build confidence, skill, and a deeper connection to their own creativity.

With over 14 years of professional experience in visual arts, graphic design, and illustration, I work across a wide range of techniques and materials. My teaching approach blends strong artistic foundations with curiosity, experimentation, and personal expression.

I am passionate about learning and growth, and I stay current with art trends, techniques, and creative theories. More importantly, I believe teaching is a dialogue. I listen to my students, understand their goals, and guide them—step by step—toward developing their unique artistic voice, whether they are beginners or advancing artists.

My classes are designed to be inspiring, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs, helping them grow not only as artists, but as confident creators.

I started teaching in an indigenous community as a volunteer in a small town where I moved in after I finished my associate degree in Illustration. After a couple of years, when I moved into another town, I started teaching at a university level as a Illustration Instructor. I also implemented academic mentoring and advisement for graphic design majors. Currently I do Paint session for kids and adults in Jersey City.

I am an illustrator, with 14 years of experience. I am also an artist and I have exhibited my art in different countries during my career.

About the lesson

It's depends of his/her level of experience but usually I start with the most basic shapes in 2D and creation of shadows to add volume. After a few exercises in black and white, we'll start talking about colors and visual development to draw real objects in 3D. I help them to explore, create, and develop their own original ideas, providing inspiration, guidance and tools to be creative.

I have worked with children from 5 to 17 years old, and adults at a university level. I also guide paint and sip sessions for mature people!

Since I moved to this country, I have been visiting museums and galleries to get inspired and participated in local exhibitions with my artwork.
