About Linnea

My background is extremely diverse and my lessons incorporate the whole person, body, mind and spirit.

I hold an MAT Degree as well as an Art History/Fine Art BA, and graphic design certification. I have a strong background and intereste in Art Therapy and love utilizing art for healing in various modalities.

I have been a professional artist, selling and exhibiting throughout the country, for over 20 years. I can assist artists in writing their Artist Statements and finding their voice as a creative.

I am a Color Therapist and incorporate the meaning and energy behind color in my lessons.

I am also a certified Yoga Instructor, Reflexologist and Reiki Master.

I absolutely love assisting creatives in finding their voice/style as an artist, and developing structure for their marketing and branding (if that is what they would like to do), developing self-esteem, incorporating the mind-body connection with creating and self-expression and color therapy.

Nothing makes me happier than assisting artists of all ages, styles and ability levels, to find themselves and their own unique voice.

My classes do cover basic techniques of painting and drawing, but more so focus on Art as a Healing modality for self-expression and release of feelings.

I cater to the creative who needs a boost, some overall guidance, structure and assistance in pulling their style together and finding themselves.

I enjoy assisting all ages, but truly enjoy working with pre-teens and teens.

I have always been a teacher in one way or another. I started baby-sitting when I was 11 years old and loved teaching children new things and watching their minds light up with creative expansion.

When I started college I began with an A.A. in elementary education and decided to switch to Art in my third year as I wanted to combine my two loves of teaching and art.

I am also a certified Yoga Instructor and love guiding others in their health and creative journeys.

About the lesson

I first spend time talking with students to find out what they are interested in, what excites them, what they are struggling with, and what they envision for themselves moving forward.

Are these classes to get more comfortable with your medium? To become more proficient? To gain self-esteem and confidence? To find your unique style and voice? To help you get your artwork out there and possibly sold? I can assist with all of this and more.

Details

My art lessons are standardized pricing per session. I charge $50 for a three hour session. I currently offer sessions on Saturdays 9am-12noon.
