About Ecka Blaire
*Remote teaching during covid* I love to work with people of all ages and experience levels, but hold a special place for those who are trying a new medium or stepping in to explore their creative passions for perhaps the first time. Art is for everyone, and I believe in a holistic approach to exploring artmaking. I'm most passionate about painting and drawing, and I feel that these are fabulous processes for examining and understanding the world around us to foster a deeper connection to it and those who inhabit it.
I love to share what I know to help you explore your own creative passions. Seeing someone try something new and overcome insecurity to find joy and confidence in the learning process is so meaningful.
I've always enjoyed the learning process and passing knowledge around as I don't believe it belongs to any one person. I began teaching individuals early on in college, and then instructed children and adults individually and in small class settings soon after graduating. Then I moved on to full-time work in museums, but am ecstatic to opening up my practice to a select number of individuals to help them learn about artmaking.
I'm a practicing, exhibiting artist with over 15 years experience in painting and drawing. My award-winning work has been shown throughout the Northeast, and I was formally trained at the Hartford Art School where I received my BFA in Painting.
I've taught both adults and children in individual and group sessions. I'm excited to continue sharing what I know with folks of any age or skill level.
