About Krister
I am a drawing and painting tutor with a special interest in digital art with Procreate, Adobe Photoshop, or Clip Studio Paint.
I love to bring stories to life through pictures. I'm currently writing and illustrating a graphic novel and web comic for middle grade readers based on an animal version of a Jules Verne novel. I've been a professional artist for years and have been teaching online remotely since the pandemic.
I've also won awards for figure drawing and traditional drawing and painting with gouache, transparent watercolor, or oil painting. I love the genre of imaginative realism.
I love expressing myself visually and evoking emotions from my work.
I began leading young children as part of the Guild of Natural Illustrators, then peer taught in college, and now tutor art online.
I graduated with top honors with a Bachelors of Fine Art from the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design and sold work and been an invited artist at meetings and shows around the US. I have a background in wildlife rehabilitation, too.

I like to ask students what their goals are as well as see what starting point they're at. I meet online and share my screen and project my ipad if I'm demonstrating digital techniques.
