About Norman
Im interested in working with serious high school artists especially on abstract painting approaches as not much of that is taught in high school art. I do oil but my abstract class would be watercolor, ink, pastel, and salt combinations. Ives been serious about painting since 1980 and was mentored by a portrait artist. I was accepted into the Maryhill Museum of Art Program in 2006 where 3 of my works where shown in the Agriculture in America Exhibit. My watercolor was picked as the brochure cover. I have exhibited at outside shows for the McCall Arts Council and the Boise Art Museum, Art and Roses show over the last 20 years. I have an Art Minor and BA from the University of Idaho. Mentor was John Collias a famous portrait artists now deceased. My work can be seen at normannelsonarts.com, and on facebook at Norman Nelson Arts.
